Shunka a brand trade mark by Grand Authentic Recipe (M) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in year 2010 and its core business if Japanese Family Restaurant served with affordable price Japanese Home Style Foods. The first SHUNKA Japanese Family Restaurant is located at Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
The company established 2 outlets of SHUNKA which located at Bukit Mertajam Penang & Parit Bundar Perak in Malaysia 2010. They initiated SHUNKA Licensing / Franchising field in 2011 and became a member of MFA (Malaysia Franchise Association) since 2011 and ARFF (Asean Retail-Chain Franchise Federation) and appointed as committee for ARFF Northern Region as well.
Our rapid expansion was the result of unexpected popularity, and the third wholly-licensed outlet was set up in Raja Uda in 2012, Butterworth Penang, with the implementation of centralized kitchen for future business expansion. From there the company’s growth just gathered pace.
The fourth & fifth wholly-licensed outlets were set up in 2013, at Aman Jaya, Sungai Petani (Kedah) and Taiping, (Perak) in 2014. The sixth wholly-licensed outlet was set up in 2014 at Burma Road and Alma, Bukit Mertajam (Penang), continued with Shunka Petaling Jaya (Selangor) and Shunka Sungai Petani (Kedah) in 2015.
With results beyond encouraging, Shunka decided to build on this momentum. Shunka Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and several more outlets are in the pipeline for the year 2015.
